Brian has proudly served the people of Scotts Bluff, Banner and Kimball counties, and remains committed to their well-being.

Brian has brought his leadership experience to fight for Western Nebraska, creating new opportunities for agriculture and small business. Too many farmers and ranchers face crushing debt. Brian supports exploring new markets for local produce and attracting ag-related businesses to our region. He’s actively working to create quality jobs that attract young families and entrepreneurs to Western Nebraska by both recruiting new business creators and empowering our local innovators. Brian supported and helped pass Nebraska’s first significant abortion ban post-Roe v. Wade (LB574), banning abortion after 12-weeks and prohibiting puberty blockers for minors and bannning gender-altering surgery for minors.

Local Economy & Agriculture

  • Grow Agriculture: Expanded markets for Nebraska producers, including passing legislation requiring higher ethanol blends at gas stations, increasing demand for local corn and biofuels from our local farmers. Led the effort to protect our farmland from the Chinese Communist Party control through landmark legislation (LB1120), securing local agriculture and national security.
  • Shrink Regulatory Demands: Advocated reducing burdensome regulations, including proposing legislation (LB591) to streamline lease rules for farmers and ranchers, giving local producers more certainty and flexibility.
  • Grow Good Jobs: Supported significant statewide tax reforms (LB754) to make Nebraska competitive for business and job creation, enabling residents to earn good wages and become homeowners.
  • Shrink Obstacles to Business Growth: Actively backed legislation to eliminate uncompetitive taxes and streamline regulatory hurdles that previously prevented small businesses from thriving in Western Nebraska.”

  • Grow an Attractive Business Environment: Helped pass historic income and corporate tax reductions (LB754), making Nebraska highly attractive for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
  • Shrink High Tax Burdens: Voted for direct property tax relief (LB34), reducing taxes immediately for Scotts Bluff, Banner, and Kimball County families, farmers, and businesses. Introduced additional legislation (LB81) to close gaps in property tax relief, ensuring fairness and comprehensive taxpayer benefits.

Pro First Amendment

  • Grow Personal Expression: Successfully introduced legislation (LB172, enacted via LB383) criminalizing AI-generated child pornography, protecting children from exploitation and holding Big Tech accountable
  • Shrink Big Tech Censorship: Supported groundbreaking legislation restricting Big Tech’s ability to exploit and censor young users, requiring parental oversight of minors’ social media accounts.
  • Grow Religious Freedom: Introduced legislation (LB538) to proactively combat antisemitism and religious discrimination in Nebraska’s schools, reaffirming our commitment to religious liberty and tolerance.

Pro Second Amendment

  • Grow Gun Rights: Successfully voted to enact Constitutional Carry (LB77), allowing law-abiding Nebraskans to carry concealed firearms without permits or unnecessary regulation, ensuring full
    Second Amendment rights.
  • Shrink Regulatory Overreach: Helped pass legislation limiting local jurisdictions’ ability to impose burdensome restrictions on gun owners, protecting gun rights statewide.

Pro Education

  • Grow Local Control & Transparency: Supported and passed the Academic Transparency Act (LB390), empowering parents by requiring schools to disclose library book selections and ensure parental notification and oversight.
  • Shrink Radical Indoctrination: Actively backed legislation to prohibit the teaching of divisive Critical Race Theory and inappropriate gender ideology in Nebraska schools, while strongly advocating school choice (LB753) to empower parents to choose schools aligning with their values.

Pro Defense

  • Grow Veterans’ Liberty: Supported policies exempting veterans’ military retirement income from state taxes, encouraging veterans to settle permanently in Nebraska.
  • Shrink Bureaucratic Obstacles: Advocated expanding veterans’ healthcare choices, allowing them greater freedom to choose local providers instead of navigating restrictive federal systems.
  • Grow National Security: Passed landmark legislation (LB1120) safeguarding Western Nebraska’s sensitive military assets from foreign adversaries, like the Chinese Communist Party, by restricting land purchases around strategic military sites.

Crime and Public Protection

  • Grow Law Enforcement Support: Championed increases in funding, resources, and training for Nebraska State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies to ensure community safety and officer retention.
  • Shrink Criminal Exploitation: Successfully introduced and passed legislation (LB172 via LB383) criminalizing AI-generated child exploitation materials, strengthening Nebraska’s legal tools against emerging threats.
  • Grow Border Security: Supported Nebraska’s participation in Operation Lone Star, backing Gov. Pillen’s deployment of state resources to secure the southern border and prevent fentanyl and human trafficking from impacting our communities.

About Brian

Brian Hardin comes from a fourth generation Scotts Bluff County farm family where he learned the value of skinned knuckles and long days. He graduated from Gering High School. He then earned a bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College and a master’s degree from Denver Seminary. A consistent theme throughout his life is leadership. He cofounded one of the larger Independent Marketing Operations in insurance in the US in the early 2000’s. He recruited and trained several thousand independent brokers from all 50 states. He worked daily with those brokers to successfully market their local agencies in both rural and metropolitan contexts.

When the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was enacted, Brian worked with state and local leaders to understand the sweeping changes coming to both personal healthcare choices and the wider economy.

His background in working with diverse people in many areas of the country through financial services transitioned into a consulting firm for small-business. Clients are from diverse sectors such as financial technology, cybersecurity, unfunded liabilities, early childhood education, and the fine arts. Approximately half of the firm’s clients are international companies transitioning to the US market.
